Scope and Contents The Truman Guild school books collection (1975-27,28,30, 32, and 33-0) is a collection of four volumes of school books created by Truman Guild. The notebooks cover various topics such as arithmetic, poetry, Greek poetry and translations, drawings, penmanship, and many other topics. One of the volumes contains a poem that was published in the Litchfield Enquirer, and another volume contains a list of all the books that Guild had read to date. Scope and Contents The Esther H. Thompson notebook (2011-42-0) contains many hand copied poems, as well as verses clipped from newspapers. It was created between the years 1875 and 1895 by Esther H. Thompson of Litchfield, Connecticut. Most of the poems are not original works, but copies of poems such as "At Last" by John Greenleaf Whittier, "Catching the Colt" by Marian Douglass, and "The Beautiful Snow" by Joseph Warren Watson.
